About Us

Our Story
Davison Home Bakery first opened its doors in 1947, founded by Fred Fortner — a longtime resident of Davison, who had a passion for baking and a deep love for his community.
For decades, Fred's bakery became a cherished part of daily life in Davison, it is known for its familiar flavors and the welcoming smell of something fresh from the oven.
When Fred retired, he passed the bakery on to his son, Mac, who carried on the tradition. The bakery eventually changed hands in July 2008, when Tom Burget took ownership and committed to
bringing it back to life.
After being closed for more than a year, Tom reopened the bakery in August 2008 — and the residents of Davison were glad to have it back. Today, Davison Home Bakery is still making all the old favorites the same way Fred and Mac always did. Same recipes. Same care. Same commitment to quality. Everything is baked fresh in-house, every single day.
Every baked good at Davison Home Bakery is baked right here from scratch, in our own kitchen, every day. We never cut corners, and we never compromise on quality. When you walk through our door, you're getting the real thing.
